About WalkingRockStore
WALKINGROCK AND TURTLEHAVEN.....a unique partnership for wildlife WalkingRock was started as a simple idea to help fund a turtle rescue by featuring
endangered wildlife paintings of original artwork silk-screened onto 100% cotton
t-shirts featuring the endangered Karner Blue butterfly to the mighty Polar Bear. This idea has now grown to include coffee mugs and ECO friendly shopping bags
of 'endangered' wildlife species.
WalkingRock's mission is to provide funds to support the work of TurtleHaven ... http://www.turtlehaven.ca a not-for-profit organization that is not government funded and is supported by the dedication to protecting and providing shelter and comfort to all turtles and tortoises while working towards the conservation and preservation of their environment through education, research and rehabilitation in Kitchener, Ontario.
TurtleHaven also offers permanent homes for the unwanted pet store turtles like the red-ear sliders and provides them with their own private pond which helps to keep them out of the wetlands. The proceeds of WalkingRock products are used to further the goals of TurtleHaven which includes conservation and education along with the rehabilitation of injured native turtles in the Waterloo Region. TurtleHaven works with local veterinarian clinics who offer medical treatment for injured native turtles. Once the turtles have been treated ... TurtleHaven provides rehabilitation until they are healthy enough to be released back into the wild. . TurtleHaven's next big goal is to establish a Turtle Rehabilitation Nature Centre for all injured wildlife in the Waterloo Region and WalkingRock will play a very important role in achieving our goal.
A big thank-you to all of you that have helped and supported TurtleHaven and WalkingRock.
Sincerely. Angie Schoen Founder Turtle Custodian Artist
